Surprisingly enough, Janelle’s first love was not photography, during her early years on Long Island’s North Shore she dreamed of becoming a star on Broadway. To pursue her dreams, Janelle studied musical theatre at Boston Conservatory. She soon realized that the stage was not where her destiny lied. Upon returning home, Janelle began taking photography classes and discovered her true passion. After completing her BFA in photography, she worked with a few local photographers & started falling in love with wedding photography! Janelle loved connecting on a personal level with each couple and capturing their love.

After a few years of assisting other photographers, Janelle began to dream of opening her own studio, where she would be able to offer a higher level of personal attention & care to each client. She wanted to break the mold of the “typical wedding photographer” - so at the young age of 25, Janelle did just that.

Janelle Brooke Photography was born in her parents’ dining room and has since grown exponentially. Janelle’s dream started in one room, at one table (which had to be cleared each night for dinner) with one employee and 12 wedding bookings. JBP is now a partnership with an ever-expanding team that occupies an office with five desks, two showrooms, a studio space, 40+ wedding bookings and 60+ newborns and families photographed each year. It is Janelle’s warm, encouraging demeanor that has granted Janelle Brooke Photography the success it’s achieved since it’s inception in 2008. These qualities have been instilled in our team by Janelle personally; they are the backbone that she built the JBP team on and the reason all of our images are natural, creative and most importantly, totally unique to each couple or family that we photograph.

Janelle’s work has been featured on Good Morning America and has been published in The New York Times, The Hollywood Reporter, Women’s Day Australia, The Knot & Well Wed Magazines.
